Eric Vloeimans speelt ‘Lex’

Eric Vloeimans and Martin Fondse composed the music for Audition.

This composition is named after Lex van Weren, the trumpet player who survived Auschwitz. His story was an inspiration for Udo to create his short film.

Trumpet Lex van Weren

This is a wonderful photo of the trumpet that Lex van Weren played during his imprisonment in Auschwitz. He was part of the camp orchestra and as he said, without this musical instrument he would certainly have not survived.

You can find the trumpet on display at the museum and Rememberance site Camp Westerbork.
