Auditie is een korte animatiefilm geïnspireerd door tekeningen van gevangenen in concentratiekamp Auschwitz. 
Met de film leggen we een link naar een hedendaags thema: vervolgde en gevluchte kunstenaars. Stichting AIDA Nederland helpt hen.

Eric Vloeimans and Martin Fondse composed the music for Audition.
This composition is named after Lex van Weren, the trumpet player who survived Auschwitz. His story was an inspiration for Udo to create his short film.

Synopsis (Dutch)
In een concentratiekamp gaat een jongen auditie doen voor het kamporkest. Hij neemt afscheid van zijn vader en loopt alleen verder naar wat een executieplek blijkt te zijn. Tijdens zijn spel vlucht hij in een fantasiewereld, maar met zijn laatste noot keert de werkelijkheid terug: hij staat voor het vuurpeloton en wacht op de beslissing. Zijn vader luistert van een afstand mee.
Muziekcompositie (Dutch)
Martin Fondse en Eric Vloeimans kennen elkaar al vele jaren en werkten al diverse keren samen aan bijzondere projecten. Ook solo hebben deze eigenzinnige muzikanten al een groot oeuvre op hun naam staan, waaronder diverse filmmuziekcomposities. De compositie voor Auditie werd in april 2011 opgenomen.

Audition – installation
SHELTER FOR A FILM / SCHUILPLAATS VOOR EEN FILM
Will be an installation based on the experiences of censored and imprisoned artists.
The audience walks through the steel contours of doors and their peepholes which symbolize prison corridors.
In the centre stands one shelter in which he film Audition is running.
A second shelter is unfinished, providing a roof but no refuge.
Through the peepholes the audience will see works based on the experiences of writers, poets, musicians, photographers and other artists who have been imprisoned for their art.

This poster was designed by Gerco Hiddink, the one half Hartebeest from Nijmegen. Gerco and his first mate Maaike van de Heuvel have helped me a great deal during the last year. Not just by designing this beautiful poster, but also by reflecting on the choices I had to make while designing my film. I am very happy to have creative friends like them. They are just starting out their brand new design studio Hartebeest, first they were working individually and sometimes together, now they are an official team. Keep an eye on them.
